book groups

Our Fabulous Book!
Hello and welcome back.
I hope you had a great term break. This term we are doing book groups. I am in a group with Catherine, Rosie, Marguerite and me! we are reading a book called 'Running out of time' written by Margaret Haddix. We are going really well and we are saying really good questions and really descriptive answers. We are the best group!
The book is about a young girl in the village of Clifton witch is a historical reserve. A virus (diphtheria)is breaking out and strange glass boxes hanging in trees... it couldn't become even more weird. Jessie is determined to find out the secret her mother is willing to tell her.
read it, it is a marvel of a book.
See you next week!

medevail week

Medieval week was one of the most fun weeks of school. We read about tons of information about the plague, the peasants and heaps more. I think that my week went really well. I found making the castle really fun and doing the 2 page spread. I think that nothing could be done to make the week even better, because it was so fun there were no mistakes. i enjoyed the lesson on castle because we had to draw a diagram of a castle and i really enjoy drawing so that was SUPER fun.
Have a fantastic week,
Lottie

kapa haka

Image result for kapa hakaThis term the intermediate syndicate is doing Kapa Haka on Wednesday afternoon. We are learning different songs and their actions. I am finding it very fun. At my old school we did Kapa Haka every Friday afternoon. we had a Maori teacher and so it was a little different. but I feel that I am giving it my all and I am really enjoying it. I am finding difficult the small shaking of the hands. I can do one hand but not he other. I will keep on giving my all and having lots of fun.
see you next week.

minecraft

This is not quite like our village yet... but we will get there!

Minecraft!

Minecraft is very new to me. This is my first time doing it ever and so it is quite exciting to learn what everyone was crazy about not long ago. In our classes we are building medieval villages and 2 of my friends and I are making some of the cottages. It is hard to figure out the rules and how to open doors and not bust into them! I think that we are going quite well with our village staying medieval. We have nearly finihed making the church and the castle. those are for the more advanced minecraft builders. I think I should just stick to the houses.
It has been and still will stay a great experiance.
See you next week!

electives!

this term I chose drama as my elective. we play lots of games and act plays. it is a heap of fun and I get to meet more people. the first weeks have gone really well. since I play with the little kids at lunch time I know most of them and so I look after them. I have learnt that drama is all about acting and making fun your self. it is lots of fun and yes it was what I had expected. I will try my hardest to help Miss Bolger (my teacher) so that lots of fun is ahead for the kids.
see you next time,
Lottie

Castle Building!

hello! last week the 3 senior classes made castle models as part of our maths. My group had me and two year 7s. We made a awesome castle, we even had a dragon circling around one of the towers. Our group had flower vines on the rock walls and a big wooden door. I think that we worked very well together and we did great team work to get it done in time. we made our decisions that all the walls would be matching to the round turrets, and that the square towers would be plain grey. we had a little problem that sometimes people would want to do something else in stead of helping the rest of the group but we managed to convince them to help us. Something that made our castle a little bit above the rest in our class was that I brought in some play mobile figures so that it looked much better.
See you next week!
This castle looks a little like my groups, I did my best!

3rd place!!

on Tuesday St Benedict's did their cross country. We went down to Nairnville and ran 2 km. it was a hard race and the trick I have is to only jog at the start and to keep on running the whole way. I came 3rd place and I am now into the northern zones. I enjoy cross country a little but I would not like to do it as a sport. I am very nervous and excited about northern zones. it is going to be fun for I am going will some of my friends. the race was out of 13 people and so it was really fun. I made sure that I encouraged people as I was running and I think that I persevered the whole way.
I hope you all have a great week,
 Lottie
