speeches.

Hello and welcome back,
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we are doing our speeches. I feel that I am very well prepared. I haven't learnt it of by heart but I have made my queue cards. we practised our speeches last week and my buddy told me to work on my, eye contact and not reading so much of my queue cards.
our system on doing the speeches is everyone in the class says it to each other and then the teachers choose the top 2 of each age group and then they do the intermediate judging . then the people who got threw get judged by proper judges.

Earthquake
I hope that everyone is safe and their houses have survived. here is a link to keep track of the earthquakes: https://www.geonet.org.nz/

have a great time, and see you next week.

Image result for for the love of horsesLast week we had book week. On Friday I dressed up as Vicki Wilson from 'For the love of horses'. A visiting author came to see all the students of St Benedict's. She explained about her new picture book, 'The tortoise and the solider' she explained how she went to go and meet the star of the book and it was so cool to listen to. Fifi Colston was the lovely authors name.

I made a new book cover for 'The lion the witch and the wardrobe'. it was the style of the Narnia lamp.
the week was one of the best weeks at school!!

See you next time.

It is book week!

Hello and welcome back,
Image result for books clipartThis week is book week.  have read some really great books this term such as The book of pearl by Timothee De Fombelle, Harry Potter by J.K Rowling and Fox Craft by Inbali Iserles.

My favourite book when I was little was:
Princess Dress.

I have a number of really good authors that I am reading at the moment so it is very hard to pick a favourite. I enjoy Sally Gardner, Stacy Gregg, J.K Rowling and much more. They have really good detail in their stories and every word feels like they were chosen really carefully and put in a spot were they would be really strong.

My favourite book (and that I think people will enjoy) is Fox Craft by Inbali Iserles is a book that people who enjoy warriors will really like. It is a book about a fox cub  his family after disaster strikes the once happy family. She has to learn ancient magic to be able to protect herself from the bad foxes that are close on her trail.
